Charity Team Building Activities.

First team building idea: Charity Bikes

A great way to improve communication skills, understand customer and community service, foster focus on a shared goal, and promote a sense of belonging to the group, is running a charity activity.

Nothing brings people together and unites them more than fighting for a social cause. That's why, among our three team building ideas, we wanted to include Charity Bikes.

As its name suggests, this is one of the most charitable team building ideas we've had, and it's a gymkhana in which each team must take part, completing mini-challenges. For each mini-challenge completed, they'll earn fictitious money that lets them buy parts for a brand new bicycle.

The gymkhana's final challenge is run by the marketing department, which must design an advertising spot to sell the bike's virtues. The target audience for this campaign? A group of children who'll watch with barely contained excitement as the charity bikes appear, and who, once the event ends, will be the real beneficiaries of those bikes.

Second team building idea: Formula GT Car

If it seems clear that practising solidarity brings groups together, there's another activity with similar effects. Which activity are we talking about? Playing. Letting go of the adult for a moment and bringing out the child within helps us rediscover our colleagues and ourselves.

To boost team spirit, promote collaboration and communication, and improve critical thinking, as well as strengthen healthy competitiveness, here's our suggestion:

Have them design, build and test their own Formula 1 car. Starting from a blueprint and using different materials — cardboard, wheels, wood — teams build their Formula 1 car. The "engine" to test their cars will logically be human.

This activity is a lot of fun and will certainly help strengthen team bonds and foster creativity.

Third team building idea: Cirque du Soleil

To wrap up our team building ideas, we've saved the final show. Through music, dance and circus arts, the work team will create a multidisciplinary show. But before this show, they'll need to train their different skills through workshops designed to cover these three areas: dance, music and circus.

The show can only be a success if the whole team cooperates, overcomes their insecurities and takes part energetically.
