Now that the new year has started, it's the ideal moment to plan corporate activities. At Kaizen Team Building we suggest more than one example of HR activities of every kind, with one thing in common: strengthening the company and getting the most out of its human potential.

The first months of the year are essential for creating a successful HR plan. It's essential to have a clear roadmap that offers several ways to develop team strategies while pursuing the company's mission and vision.

The HR plan must analyse and determine every element related to the company's staffing policy for the coming year, from workforce size and structure to selecting and hiring new employees, but working conditions, and above all, employee morale and connection, should never be overlooked.

A prior analysis step lets us better understand shortcomings and areas needing improvement, the weak points that need addressing. Once the aspects requiring improvement are identified, we need to apply the right tools.

For your HR plan to be much more accurate and effective, a team building plan is necessary — it can be outdoors or indoors, in winter, spring, summer or autumn, but the benefits gained are more than proven, translating into a noticeable increase in profitability and the company's smooth running.

And above all, they help release tension and strengthen the human team's bonds by offering a day away from the workplace, full of fun and great experiences.

Sample HR activities for 2019

Haka Team Building Our star activity: participants must form groups to become "tribes" and learn to perform the traditional Māori dance, the Haka. They'll then need to compete against other tribes, and finally all tribes will join forces to dance the Great Final Haka together.

Paella Contest A culinary activity that delights everyone — participants must find the ingredients, do all the preparation, cook the best paella in the world and add the finishing touch. No matter participants' skill level, a team of expert chefs will assist them at every step and guide them to make sure their paella is a success. What's more, this activity easily pairs with others like karaoke or entertainment.

Dragon Boat A corporate activity perfect for the summer months: each team represents an ancient civilisation, with its own banner and tribal dance. They then race against the other "civilisations", with challenges both in and out of the water.

Formula GT The goal is to design, build and test a cardboard Formula 1 prototype, including its bodywork, chassis and wheels. Then they'll need to test its structure, durability and driving in a race where not only speed counts, but also safety, pit stops and design.

In Tune with the Team A great activity to boost team spirit. Music will be the tool for strengthening teamwork and a sense of belonging, with amazing results. No prior musical knowledge is needed from participants.

Mini Olympics Competitive spirit, teamwork, communication, fun, results orientation or leadership. Across different challenges, participants will release a huge amount of energy and excitement.
